Free concerts return to PNC Bank Arts Center this fall. The outdoor shows start Sept. 9 in Holmdel, New Jersey. Classic rock stars and doo-wop groups take the stage.

British stars Herman's Hermits with Peter Noone open the series. Their afternoon show starts at 1:30 p.m. More acts follow throughout the month at this open-air spot.

Ten days later, Malt Shop Memories fills the night air. Starting at 7 p.m., The Coasters belt out hits. The Knockouts, Duprees, and Jay Seigal's Tokens join in with their oldies magic.

The music keeps flowing on Sept. 29. Bob Miranda leads The Happenings through their hits at 1:30 p.m. Vito Picone fronts The Elegants while John Scupelliti brings The Reactions. The Coda band backs each act.

Rock royalty closes things out on Oct. 3. The Rascals, with Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish, hit the stage at 7:30 p.m. These Rock Hall members share the night with Gary Lewis and the Playboys.

Each year, these shows bring music to New Jersey fans. Not a single ticket costs a dime: it's all free to watch and hear.

Want to visit? Head 50 miles south from NYC to find this spot. Since 1968, this 17,500-seat venue has drawn big crowds under the stars.
