Ocean City officials signed off on a $4.25 million deal to fix up the boardwalk between St. Charles Place and 5th Street. Workers will install fresh decking, put up new rails, and fix broken concrete spots.

The city picked L. Feriozzi Concrete Company for the job. Business chief George Savastano wants construction done before April, 2026.

At their September meeting, council members voted 6-1 to move ahead. Council head Terry Crowley Jr. said they might adjust plans later, once work starts.

Councilman Jody Levchuk cast the lone no vote, questioning the building supplies. "Obviously I'm a fan of this," Levchuk said, according to Patch. "I'm not a fan of some of the materials that we're anticipated to use."

Though Levchuk pushed to pause and check other options, the strict timeline blocked any quick switches in materials.

This fix-up targets key blocks of the shore walkway. Teams will swap out old wood, patch concrete sections, and add fresh safety rails throughout.

The project shows how much the city values its famous walkway. Visitors flock to the boardwalk, which keeps local stores busy year after year.

Construction starts soon. The goal? Getting everything ship-shape before beach-goers arrive for summer 2026.
