A night of music and giving awaits at Edgewood Country Club. The Community Chest's annual event kicks off Sept. 25 in River Vale. "Jazz and Generosity" fills the evening from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

TV veteran and Emmy winner Harry Martin steps up as master of ceremonies. Music flows from the Richard Baratta Quartet, with guest artist Vyacheslav Gryaznov at the piano.

Seven local stars shine bright with recognition that night. The Community Service Award finds its home with Franci Steinberg. Two families, the Jiangs (David and Kayla) and Wilkens (John and Gracen), earn Philanthropic Family honors. Gilly Garrett, P.O. Matt Stanislao, and Courtnay Johnson Suffern stand tall as Community Action Heroes.

September marks Hunger Action Month, and the event takes action. Fresh fruit centerpieces later make their way to food banks. Each guest receives a bag to fill with needed items.

Since 1933, the Community Chest has stood strong in eastern Bergen County. From its base in Englewood, aid flows to those who need it most.

Amy Papola leads an exciting auction. Guests enjoy drinks, dinner, awards, and live performances throughout the night.

Standard tickets cost $250, while VIP access runs $300. Groups can reserve a table of 10 for $2,250. Book online or send payment to The Community Chest at 122 South Van Brunt Street, Englewood.
