A fresh Wawa store with cutting-edge design opens its doors Thursday at 245 S. Broadway in Pennsville, New Jersey. The site marks the state's first taste of the company's updated store concept since its launch in 2021.
The striking building stands out with its V-shaped steel beam and sweeping curves that mirror birds in flight. Glass walls wrap the structure, mixing with wood and brick in a bold statement, based on details from Wawa's team, per NJ.com.
Step inside to find expanded food zones, drink stations, and smart screens for meal orders. The site offers spotless bathrooms, fee-free cash machines, and air fills for tires at no cost.
Above the fuel pumps, a sleek canopy picks up the main building's style cues. Crisp lighting and green spaces dot the grounds, while sharp design touches pull it all together.
The store sits on what was once empty space at Cranberry Plaza, now putting idle land to work near Save-A-Lot and AutoZone shops.
Doors swing wide at 8 a.m. Sept. 25. Early birds, the first hundred guests, snag free shirts. Free coffee flows all weekend long.
Watch the Wawa Wally Goose join local leaders to cut the ribbon. First responders face off in a "Hoagies for Heroes" match. A new budget-friendly $6 combo brings together a Shorti Hoagie, wrap or chicken sandwich with chips and a drink.
When this spot starts serving, the Broadway and Carroll location closes up shop.
