A new era began for Samsung Electronics as workers streamed into their gleaming North American base in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The 321,000-square-foot building merges three sites into one central spot. Staff started work at 700 Sylvan Ave. on July 7.
"This was everything that we were looking for in a modernization of our work environment," said Samsung Chief Marketing Officer Allison Stransky, according to North Jersey News during a tour on Sept. 18.
Inside, workers find perks at every turn. A bright cafeteria serves meals at reduced prices. The fitness center sports Samsung-branded machines. Quick shopping trips happen at the in-house store. When breaks call, the game room beckons. At the heart sits a vast atrium, linking four wings with steps that double as seats for big meetings.
A special tech zone, called the Connected Experience Center, puts Samsung's latest work on display. From phones to fridges, from store systems to medical gear: it's all there to see. Right now, business guests get tours, but soon the public can book visits too.
By staying in Bergen County, Samsung kept faith with its home of four decades. Workers from old offices in Ridgefield Park and two other spots now come together here.
The town won big when Samsung picked Englewood Cliffs over larger cities. "Our proximity to New York City is unmatched," Councilman Tim Koutroubas said. "This prime land is ideal for corporations, making us a hub for tech companies."
Smart design puts teamwork first. Bright, open spaces mix with quiet corners. Natural light pours in through big windows, making work feel less like work.
Young staff members show special excitement for the new site. Stransky noted their quick embrace of fresh ways to work, calling it promising for Samsung's future.
After running smoothly since summer, the building got its official welcome on Sept. 22 with a grand party.
