A splash of color will fill Lincoln Park this fall as runners dash through clouds of bright powder. The Oct. 11 event combines fitness with giving back to the community.
Starting at 226 Boesel Ave, participants will wind through Manville's valley streets. The funds split between two vital causes: the local rescue squad and RWJ Steeplechase Cancer Center.
The squad mixes full-time workers with dedicated locals who rush to help in times of need. Fresh gear, staff education, and basic supplies top their wish list for the money raised.
Runners will find a smooth, even course that snakes past neighborhood homes. As they pass checkpoints, volunteers toss harmless colored powder, turning white shirts into moving art.
This marks the biggest money-maker of the year for local medics. Their choice to share funds with cancer research shows a wider push for better health services in the region.
