Starting tonight, music fans can join a fresh take on group singing in Red Bank, New Jersey. No tryouts needed: just show up at Pilgrim Baptist Church between 7 and 9 p.m. to belt out rock hits with other music lovers.
Rock Voices, which runs singing groups across the country, offers a risk-free deal: try three weeks of practice sessions before deciding to join. Singers will tackle hits spanning six decades of music history.
This season shines a spotlight on music giants Brian Wilson, Sly & the Family Stone, Rick Davies, and Ozzy Osbourne. Members can build their vocal skills while bonding with fellow music fans.
Unlike traditional singing groups that stick to classical pieces, this choir puts a spin on famous rock songs. The format aims to pull in both skilled vocalists and newcomers who've never sung in public.
The group plans to use its voice for good. Each show will support Red Bank charities, turning musical passion into community action.
Practices keep things simple and stress-free. Members learn their parts step by step, with plenty of support from music staff and fellow singers during the weekly sessions.
As the newest branch of Rock Voices in the U.S., Red Bank joins a growing network of singers. The group's mission makes singing rock music open to everyone.
Want to join? Visit rockvoices.com for sign-up info. The doors open tonight, and you can test drive the experience through Oct. 13 at no cost.
Find the group at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank. Monday practices run from 7 to 9 p.m. Just arrive by 6:45 p.m. to get settled.
