A new Trader Joe's will start serving customers in Woodbridge on Oct. 29. The 10,691-square-foot shop sits at 675 Route 1 South - an Iselin address. Staff will cut the ribbon at 9 a.m. to mark the start of business.

Taking over what was once Bed Bath & Beyond, the market stands opposite Woodbridge Center mall. More than 60 local workers will staff the store, with some experienced team members moving from other sites.

This marks the 20th spot in New Jersey, adding to shops in places like Brick, Bridgewater, and Cherry Hill. Other stores dot the map in Clifton, Denville, Edgewater, and stretch from Florham Park to Westwood.

The food seller's reach now extends to 580 shops across 42 states plus D.C. Last year saw 34 new spots spring up, with more planned as 2025 unfolds. They stick to growing where roots already run deep rather than breaking fresh ground.

Market watchers at NJBIZ.com point out the chain's focus on building up existing markets.

The store will share extra food that's still fresh with local groups who help others. This happens seven days a week through their Neighborhood Shares Program.

West Orange will see the next New Jersey location at Mount Pleasant Plaza. The opening date stays under wraps for now.

Just down the road, about 2.5 miles away, Sprouts Farmers Market recently opened its doors at Cloverleaf Retail Center. Sprouts runs four other New Jersey shops and plans one more in East Windsor.

After the grand opening, shoppers can visit from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day.
