Plans for a new indoor golf and dining venue at 1213 Route 22 West won full support from the Bridgewater Township Planning Board. The old Safavieh building will transform into The Clubhouse, a multi-level sports and dining space.

"I'm excited about this application because it involves the adaptive reuse of an existing commercial building that, as many of you know, has struggled for years to attract and retain a viable tenant," said Michael Silbert, attorney with DiFrancesco Bateman, per Patch.com.

Players will find 12 golf simulator suites spread across two floors — 10 on the ground level and two VIP spaces above. The site will feature a kitchen, multiple bars, and spaces for relaxing. Groups can book private areas, while members get access to an exclusive section.

The site's updates include a new back patio for social gatherings. Workers will expand parking from 108 to 140 spaces, adding spots for electric cars to charge.

"The proposed use is a blend of indoor recreational uses as well as restaurant uses. The concept is to provide for a number of golf simulator units, lounge space, bar space, dining areas, and there is the opportunity to host corporate events, birthday parties, as well as somebody coming there who wants to work on their golf game," Silbert said.

The business chose this spot in Bridgewater for its mix of young workers, households, and business clients seeking quality entertainment. A sister location runs in Fairfield.
