State Theatre New Jersey will host Richard Thomas in Mark Twain Tonight! by Hal Holbrook from Nov. 5-6. Thomas is the first and only actor authorized to perform this play since Holbrook wrote and starred in it.

The one-man show presents Mark Twain's wit and thoughts. Over six decades, audiences have seen it on Broadway, during tours, and on television. More than 2 million people across 2,300 shows have experienced this production.

Richard Thomas won an Emmy Award for his role as John-Boy Walton in The Waltons. He also got multiple Golden Globe Award nominations. Today's TV viewers know him from Ozark, The Americans, Billions, and the original Stephen King mini-series, It.

The New York Times called Twain "the nation's one true comic genius." Time Magazine described his commentary as "uproariously funny" and "pungently wise."

The performing arts center is the largest in Central New Jersey. More than six and a half million people have visited since it reopened as a nonprofit in 1988. Each year, it generates more than $18 million in economic impact on New Brunswick and the surrounding area.

Tickets start at $52. You can buy them online or by calling State Theatre Guest Services at 732-246-SHOW (7469).

Additional ticket and transaction fees may apply. Programs at the venue are made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
