State Theatre New Jersey will host Cirque Dreams Holidaze across three shows this week. Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. kicks things off, followed by Saturday, Dec. 13 performances at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets begin at $46.

More than 20 performers with international experience bring the production to life. Audiences will witness storybook-inspired characters paired with aerial stunts, acrobatic feats, and group dance sequences that fill the stage.

Over 300 costume designs create the show's visual appeal. Music ranges from fresh compositions to reimagined versions of holiday classics: "Deck the Halls," "Winter Wonderland," and "Jingle Bell Rock" among them.

The New York Daily News called it "a delicious confection of charm, sparkle, and talent by the sleigh load." Contemporary circus arts meet theatrical storytelling in this production.

Ballerinas share the stage with nutcrackers, snowmen, penguins, reindeer, aerialists, gingerbread people, carolers, and ornaments. Broadway singers weave through the performance.

This private nonprofit venue hit its 100th birthday after substantial renovations wrapped in December 2021. PBS showcased the historic building in Treasures of New Jersey, part of its series on the state's landmarks.

It stands as Central New Jersey's largest performing arts hub. Since 1988, when it reopened as a nonprofit, over six and a half million people have walked through its doors.

The theater pumps more than $18 million into New Brunswick and neighboring communities each year. Jersey's Best magazine named New Brunswick "Jersey's Best Destination of the Year" for 2025.

Past mainstage acts have featured Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Kevin Hart, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, John Leguizamo, Harry Connick, Jr., Peter Frampton, and Leanne Morgan.
