A lottery player in Middlesex County won $250,000 on Wednesday. They played the Quarter Million Ca$h scratch-off game. New Jersey Lottery officials announced the win on Monday.
The winning ticket was sold at Quick Chek on Route 1 in North Brunswick, located at 1505 Route 1.
Seven of the nine top-prize tickets printed for this game remain unclaimed. The game launched in August. Each ticket costs $20.
More than 7.3 million tickets were printed for Quarter Million Ca$h. The first top-prize winner was purchased at Home Wines and Liquors at 593 Main Ave. in Passaic.
The scratch-off contains four game plays. Players scratch off the latex covering to reveal eight winning numbers and 25 of their own numbers, with a prize amount shown below each number.
If any of the player's numbers match any winning numbers, they win the prize amount shown below the matched number. When a "STAR" symbol appears in any spot, the player wins that prize without needing a match.
A "BANK" symbol wins $500 if revealed in any of the player's number spots. Bonus features are included in the game.
A "$100 BURST" symbol wins $100. A "$200 BURST" symbol wins $200.
