Holocaust Exhibit ‘Courage to Remember’ Opens at Lakewood Library in January

The Ocean County Library will present Courage to Remember, a traveling exhibit from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, at the Lakewood Branch from Jan. 6 to Feb. 3, 2026.

The Ocean County Library will present Courage to Remember, a traveling exhibit from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, at the Lakewood Branch from Jan. 6 to Feb. 3, 2026. Archival photos guide visitors through the Holocaust timeline spanning 1933 to 1945.

The images depict persecution and genocide that unfolded during those years. Millions across six continents have viewed this exhibit. It continues its tour worldwide.

Visitors can view the display during regular branch hours at 301 Lexington Ave. in Lakewood, New Jersey. Call 732-363-1435 for details.

Based in California, the Simon Wiesenthal Center confronts antisemitism, prejudice, and intolerance through nine branches spanning the U.S., Canada, Europe, Jerusalem, and Brazil. The organization holds accredited Non-Governmental Organization status at the United Nations, UNESCO, the Organization of American States, the Latin American Parliament, and the Council of Europe.

Multiple groups are sponsoring this presentation. The Ocean County Board of Commissioners, Ocean County Library, Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, New Jersey Historic Commission, and New Jersey State Council on the Arts provide backing.

The Ocean County Jewish Federation, Beth Medrash Govoha, Simon Wiesenthal Center, Ocean County Prosecutor-Human Relations Commission, and Ocean County College Center for Holocaust Genocide and Human Rights Education offer additional support. The Ocean County Sheriff and Ocean County Superintendent of Schools also champion the exhibit.
