The Middlesex College Foundation got $2.7 million from Paul Hilf's estate. This stands as the biggest donation the group has ever seen. Money will go toward the new Paul Hilf Center for Allied Health Education.

The center will help students in nursing, radiography, dental hygiene, medical lab technology, respiratory care, and other health fields. Scholarships will be available. Students can also get program support. Financial roadblocks shouldn't stop people from entering these jobs, which hospitals and clinics desperately need.

"Paul Hilf's legacy of thoughtful leadership and advocacy continues through his estate's generous donation," said President Mark McCormick, per NJBIZ.com. "We are profoundly thankful for his longstanding dedication to the College, which will support future health care professionals as they work to improve the lives of members of our community."

Hilf worked at the school for more than twenty years. He started in 1967. From 1973 to 1994, he ran the finances as chief financial officer.

He did much more than crunch numbers. Hilf helped build the Foundation from the ground up. He bought land for the Woodbridge Avenue entrance. When the Environmental Protection Agency came calling, Hilf negotiated on behalf of the school. In 1991, he brought the Cultural Festival of India to the Edison campus, drawing visitors from around the world.

"Paul Hilf's personal and professional commitment to the College and the Foundation's mission was undeniable and unparalleled," said Lisa Kelly, executive director. "Paul's story is a testament to the power of philanthropy and community. His impact will live on — fueling dreams and shaping futures."

This $2.7 million comes after another big gift earlier in 2025. The Nayan and Bindu Dalal Family Foundation gave $2 million to fix up and name the Performing Arts Center. Both donations mark the first and second seven-figure gifts the school has received in recent months.

Officials say Hilf's money will help train workers the community needs. Students will be ready for health care jobs when they graduate.
