SJTA Places Travel Restriction on Atlantic City Expressway as Storm System Looms
SJTA officials said that beginning at midnight Saturday, and until further notice on Sunday, only essential travel will be allowed on the Expressway.

As dangerous conditions with the winter storm blanketing much of the Eastern half of the country worsen, the South Jersey Transportation Authority has put in place a travel restriction on the Atlantic City Expressway.
SJTA officials said that beginning at midnight Saturday, and until further notice on Sunday, only essential travel will be allowed on the Expressway. Speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph.
The restriction comes as the weather system starts to move into the area late Saturday and overnight. Conditions in South Jersey are expected to deteriorate rapidly in the middle of the night, starting with snow that will quickly switch to a snow and sleet mix. Accumulation totals are now lower than they had been, with 4-8 inches of precipitation expected. With temperatures staying extremely cold, the mix of sleet and freezing rain will create dangerous travel conditions and potentially cause issues with power.
NJ Transit Suspensions
NJ Transit also announced it will suspend bus, light rail and Access Link service for all of Sunday. Train service will operate until 2 p.m. Sunday.
