The Ocean City Arts Center will unveil a student and faculty exhibit on Feb. 2. More than 30 artists contributed work. The show continues through Feb. 26 at the second-floor gallery, located at 1735 Simpson Ave.

A reception takes place Feb. 13 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitors can meet artists then.

The exhibit presents pieces that adult students and teaching staff created during the past year. Works span multiple media types. They demonstrate how participants in the center's programs have progressed and committed themselves.

Three sessions occur throughout the year: fall, winter, and spring. Students who continue through each session build skills and show growth over time.

Faculty members whose work appears include Gail Beckley, Susan Irland, Marcos Monteiro, Susan Rau, and Bobby Rosin. Student artists include Bonnie Ault, Nancy Bilderback, Robin Brown, Carol Casano, Merryl Cool, Kathy Geary, Mary Jane Green, Carole Griffiths, Nancy Harris, Carla Migliaccio, Dave Weir, Emmy Wilson, Ron Young, and Chris Worthington.

The center provides art experiences open to all participants. Staff members think everyone has an artist inside them.

One piece is titled "Celebrate," a watercolor by Alan Holden. It shows the variety of styles and subjects on display.

Gallery hours run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sunday.

Those seeking more information can call 609-399-7628. Details are also available at oceancityartscenter.org and on the center's Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts supports the program, partnering with the National Endowment for the Arts.
