$1.2M in Federal Funding Secured for Woodbridge Cricket Field and Playgrounds
$1.2 million was secured in federal funding for Woodbridge to build a youth cricket field and two playgrounds. Projects will take shape in Iselin, Hopelawn, and Fords.

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. secured $1.2 million in federal funding for Woodbridge to build a youth cricket field and two playgrounds. Projects will take shape in Iselin, Hopelawn, and Fords.
Some money will create two new playgrounds. The rest will fund a youth cricket field in Iselin.
Construction on all three projects will begin in the spring, as Pallone represents Woodbridge in Washington, D.C.
Pallone also secured $850,000 in federal funding for Edison, which will expand programs, events, and activities for seniors at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center.
This funding comes as part of a broader effort to support community development across the area, aiming to serve different age groups in multiple towns while creating new spaces for recreation and social connection.
The cricket field will be Iselin's first youth facility of its kind. Cricket has grown in popularity throughout the region over recent years.
Hopelawn and Fords will get new playgrounds. Families there will have fresh recreation options for children once construction wraps up.
McCormac praised the federal investment in local infrastructure and noted the projects would benefit residents across Woodbridge Township.
The spring construction timeline means work could start as soon as March or April, though weather conditions will determine the exact start date for each project.
Edison's senior center expansion will serve older residents in that community. The Minnie B. Veal Community Center will be able offer more programming with the additional funding.
