According to NJ.Com, the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners has spoken and believes that they have found the best pizza in the state. During Director Thomas Arnone’s state of the county address, he announced Monmouth County as the "Pizza Capital of New Jersey."
“We are incredibly proud of our pizzerias and our small business community, and we believe that our pizzerias are truly the best in New Jersey,” Arnone said. “So, we have officially proclaimed Monmouth County as the Pizza Capital of New Jersey.”
What a bold claim when it comes to the pizza lovers in Jersey. But, do we think it's a true statement?
In food reports, there were a few pizza spots in Monmouth County that were named some of the best. Food writer Pete Genovese highlighted pizzerias like Pete & Elda's, Del Ponte's Coal-Fired Pizza, Porta, Talula's, and more.
While talking, Arnone also gave details on the 'Slice in Monmouth' program. The website will show a full list of pizzerias across Monmouth County. The list separates them by town and tells you great places where you can snag a slice.
Now that we hear this, do you feel this to be accurate? Is Monmouth County home to the best pizza in the state?
