Comedian Bill Bellamy will headline Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Timmy Hall, GL Douglas, and host Big Momma will open.
According to New Jersey Stage, Hall has performed on HBO and BET. He's worked at the Improv and Laugh Factory. Douglas created Class Dismissed and has appeared on VH-1 and BET. Big Momma has worked at the Apollo and Stress Factory.
Bill Bellamy started doing stand-up while attending Rutgers University. He grew up in Newark, and those experiences shaped his act.
Small clubs around the country gave him his start. The Improv and The Comic Strip in New York built his reputation. So did The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
Within two years of launching his stand-up work, he landed a spot on HBO's DEF COMEDY JAM. He coined the phrase Booty Call during his time on the show.
That term became the title for his first Showtime special. Booty Call was one of the network's top-rated specials.
Tickets start at $32.50 and can be purchased online. The venue sits at 46 Washington Ave. in Carteret, New Jersey.
Carteret PAC is a multi-level space. The lower level has a club with a piano lounge. Theater-style seating fills the main floor, but crews can remove it for expos, weddings, and dinners.
VIP Box Suites and private VIP spaces occupy the upper level. A baby grand piano sits in the second-floor lobby. Fire pits, heaters, bars, and a stage with private cabana-style seating fill the rooftop lounge.
