Twelve players across New Jersey walked away with $10,000 or more during the past week. They pocketed a combined $2.3 million from state lottery draws and scratch-offs. The New Jersey Lottery released the winner list Monday, covering sales between Feb. 2 and Feb. 8.
According to NorthJersey.com, two Jersey Cash 5 tickets claimed the top spots. Each brought its holder $987,480. ShopRite on Maple Avenue in Fair Lawn sold one winning slip. Basic Food Mart on Chestnut Street in Union rang up the other.
A third Jersey Cash 5 winner grabbed $150,000 at North Broad Food Mart on North Broad Street in Hillside. These three jackpots accounted for more than $2.1 million — nearly all the week's haul.
Scratch-Off tickets delivered nine more winners statewide. Andy's Liquor Store on South Virginia Avenue in Penns Grove sold a $50,000 winner from the $1,000,000 Ultimate Spectacular game.
Three people scored $25,000 apiece playing Crossword games. Quick Mart Food & Deli on Belleville Turnpike in Kearny sold a Crossword Bonanza winner on Feb. 2. On Feb. 5, Welsh Farm Food Store on Clinton Avenue in South Plainfield dispensed a Crossword Xtreme ticket that hit. Royal Farms on E. Evesham Avenue in Magnolia sold another Crossword Bonanza winner three days later.
Two $20,000 prizes went out as well. Quick Chek on North Main Street in Manville sold a 10X ticket on Feb. 3. Washington Mini Mart on Watchun Avenue in West Orange moved a Crossword winner on Feb. 6.
The final three prizes each paid $10,000. Speedy Mart on W. Front Street in Plainfield sold a Mega Hot 7's ticket on Feb. 2. RDJ Service Center on Highway 46 in Great Meadows rang up a 100X winner three days after that. Ted's Market on Kennedy Boulevard in Manville sold a Jackpot Millions ticket on Feb. 7.
Winners came from at least 10 towns spread over eight counties. State officials say all prizes require proper claim procedures, and ticket holders should sign the backs and store them somewhere secure.
