Federal Donuts & Chicken launched its first New Jersey spot in Marlton last year. A second shop arrives at MarketFair in Princeton this spring. Franchisees Mark Heinz and Debbie Grady will bring four shops to the state under their contract.
No grand opening date exists yet for Princeton. The partners want to launch two more shops after Princeton, but timing and addresses remain unknown.
A different franchisee will debut a spot at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City this spring. This restaurant joins several new dining concepts arriving at the property during a $50 million makeover.
The chain started in 2011 in Philadelphia. Founders include James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook. They serve hand-crafted doughnuts, fried chicken, and coffee.
Spiced cake doughnuts arrive prepared with glazes and toppings, with old-fashioned milk glazes, or made-to-order and tossed in custom sugar and spice blends. Hand-battered, twice-fried chicken comes as tenders and wings with house-made dipping sauces or dry seasonings. Customers can also get fried chicken salads and sandwiches.
The brand has grown to 12 spots since launching a franchising program in 2024. The Marlton shop opened at Marlton Square last year.
Princeton will run seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., according to the MarketFair website. The shopping center sits at 3535 Route 1 in Princeton.
The MarketFair website describes the menu as offering affordable comfort classics in changing flavors like raspberry mascarpone or brownie a la mode.
