Toms River will install new playground equipment at four parks this spring. Crews will start work once weather permits. MRC Equipment has delivered everything needed for the job.
BayLea, Deer Hollow, Sky View, and Winding River South will get the upgrades. Construction could kick off within a month if conditions cooperate.
Mayor Dan Rodrick confirmed the delivery and outlined the timeline. According to Shore News Network, these improvements are part of a bigger push to boost recreation facilities and keep standards high across the township's park system.
The installations will join an existing collection of playgrounds. Castle Park, Silverton Park, and Riverwood Park continue to draw families from across the township.
The improvements aim to spread updated play areas across several neighborhoods rather than putting everything in one spot. This targets one of Ocean County's largest municipal park systems.
Mayor Rodrick has been working to expand the township's park system in Downtown Toms River, hoping to build a Downtown River Walk. Plans call for a sprinkler park plus waterfront entertainment and dining options.
The newly delivered equipment marks the next phase of playground upgrades planned throughout the community.
Four parks are scheduled for new playground installations. Work should begin within a month, assuming weather cooperates.
