The hiring signals a shift for the production facility, which spans 292 acres across Oceanport and Eatontown. Anne Kelly, vice president of studio management and services, said the company will add more workers as the opening date approaches.
"These first few jobs at Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth are a small but meaningful step in our commitment to New Jersey's production renaissance," Kelly said in a Feb. 23 statement, according to NJBiZ. "In addition to our $1 billion investment in the facility, we're already actively filming across the state — creating more employment and expanding economic opportunities for the local creative community, its workforce, and surrounding businesses."
The property functioned as a U.S. Army base for 94 years before shutting down in 2011. Its transformation into a production hub marks a new chapter.
Construction crews broke ground in May 2025. Demolition work is underway. The company finalized its land purchase just weeks before posting the job listings.
Twelve soundstages will occupy the finished facility. Developers are building the campus in phases. The first soundstages should open by 2027, with full completion slated for 2028.
This project will create an East Coast production center. Officials anticipate the campus will generate jobs while boosting area businesses and the state economy.
The streaming service committed the entire $1 billion for redevelopment. Job listings for Fort Monmouth are now live on the company's website.
