Millville gets a shop at 2229 N. Second St. on March 27. The Ramsey bakery opens April 17 at 25 Interstate Shopping Center. Newton's spot at 13 Hampton House Road lacks a confirmed date.
Ava Hesse runs franchises in Toms River and Howell with her mother, Terri Hesse, and husband, Anthony DeRosa. She revealed plans for Wall and Manahawkin shops this summer. Toms River launched in 2022. Howell followed in 2024.
"This is a happy brand with customers coming in for treats for birthdays and celebrations," Hesse said to NJ.com.
Before selling cakes, Hesse and her mother ran a massage therapy franchise. Someone brought a cake from the chain to a Fourth of July party. That changed everything. The duo investigated franchise options.
Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz started the company in 1997. They baked bundt cakes in their Las Vegas home kitchens.
Shops sell cakes for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and baby showers. Buyers choose between 8-inch and 10-inch decorated bundt cakes. Smaller options called Bundtlets and Bundtinis are available. Workers bake and frost every item on site.
White Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Confetti, and Strawberries & Cream flavors populate the menu, while seasonal varieties rotate through.
The bakery chain operates over 600 spots across the nation. New Jersey currently hosts shops in Cherry Hill, Deptford, Flemington, Hamilton, Marlton, Middletown, Morristown, Mount Laurel, North Brunswick, Paramus, Princeton, Shrewsbury, Sicklersville, South Plainfield, Watchung, Wayne, West Caldwell, and Woodbridge.
