The New Jersey Lottery will run a three-day Rock Paper Scissors contest from April 10-12 at American Dream in East Rutherford. A total of 384 people will battle for $25,000 in prize money. The champ takes home $10,000.
Tiki Barber, who used to run the ball for the New York Giants, will appear when things kick off. The press conference begins at 11 a.m. Friday, and matches start right after.
According to Patch, anyone 18 or older can enter without paying a dime. Players square off in best-of-five showdowns all weekend long. The top dozen finishers split the cash.
Barber earned All-Pro recognition during his time with the Giants. He'll answer questions from reporters and pose for pictures at the opening event. Fans can also challenge the ex-star in head-to-head action.
This is year two for the Rock Paper Scissors Throwdown. The whole thing celebrates a new Rock Paper Scissors scratch-off game. Promo One of NJ, Inc., a company based in the state, owns and operates the event.
Rounds keep going Saturday and Sunday between noon and 4 p.m. You'll find the action at Dream Stage on Court A, which sits on Level 1 of the shopping center. Take the escalator up from Parking Deck A, and you're there.
Organizers want to build exciting moments for both players and watchers. Close to 400 competitors from the area will throw down this weekend.
Every person who enters must be 18 or older. Find the spot at 1 American Dream Way in East Rutherford.
